Google Ads had a problem that required an engaging fix. They noticed that the ad spend of SMBs would dramatically decline or stop altogether when they saw a drop off in the effectiveness of their ads.
Our brief was to create an easy-to-follow direct mail that showed SMBs how to tweak their ad settings, ensuring that the effectiveness of their ads remained high.
Using advanced web browser features, we created an AR experience that showed SMBs how their ads could quite literally take off without ever having to download an app.
Taking visual cues from space food packaging, with custom rocket-themed Google Ads logo.
SMBs were treated to a one-way ticket straight to Google Ads success. The boarding pass featured a perfectly placed QR code to trigger the AR experience.
Customers are then taken through all the Google Ads features available. As each feature is looked at and ticked off, an AR rocket is built bit by bit right in front of them - starting with the boosters and finishing with a pointy end.
We wanted the aesthetic of the rocket to appear toy-like, invoking feelings of nostalgia and child's play. So we developed three possible routes, each influenced by slightly a different style.
In the end, we went with the polygon rocket as it felt the most nostalgic. Plus, it had the added advantage of better performance when rendered on the phone thanks to its limited surfaces.
Once SMBs have discovered everything they need to know about building successful Google Ads, their now completed rocket is ready for launch. Following its path on their phone, the rocket flies up into the air and finally orbits the moon.
Mission complete!
